Regular physical activity has an invaluable impact on our health, but may also lead to undesired injuries. Knees are most frequently subject to injuries. How can we take care of them during workout?
First of all: warm-up
Never start any workout without a proper warm-up! Above all stretch all muscles and focus on each part of the body. Do not hurry. The more accurate exercises, the better. Remember to warm your knees up – it will increase and improve blood flow and reduce tendon tension.
Avoid too many exercises, especially if you start doing sport. Start from the easiest exercises and focus on one part of the body. Add exercises gradually – they will activate other parts of the body. Remember about knees – do not strain them, keep a regular level.
Raise the intensity of exercises gradually to make sure your organism is able to adapt to new requirements. Too high and rapid intensity may lead to knee injuries.
Everyone should choose a suitable diet, but physically active persons are highly advised to do so. Why? Because they have to maintain the body weight. Too much load presses knees, which is harmful to them – and this in turn leads to degenerative joint changes.
Listen to your organism – you know best what is good. Do not do anything by force. If you are unable to do exercise, just give up. Never look at others – others may do more because they are more athletic, and your organism cannot stand it.
When you feel pain, even minor pain, stop doing exercises and have a break. If it comes back or intensifies, go to the doctor who will provides you with a diagnosis – if it is not serious, dietary supplements will make sure you will be back to workout.
